Taunton Mayor Thomas Hoye has endorsed Democratic Congressman Stephen Lynch in his bid to succeed John Kerry in the U.S. Senate.
"Lynch "has dedicated his life, and much of his time in Congress, to improving the lives of working people," Hoye said in a statement Thursday. "I am confident he will fight in Washington to bring jobs and economic development opportunities back to the commonwealth."
"We need a U.S. senator who understands the struggle of local people and small businesses," Hoye said.
Lynch is seen as the underdog in a primary battle with fellow Congressman Ed Markey. The primary is scheduled for April 30, with the final election set for June 25.
