Life can become stressful and overwhelming, especially if you are trying to juggle your university study with work or personal commitments. Student Linx are hosting a free ?learn to meditate? workshop on the Nathan campus. This 3 hour workshop will be held during the mid-semester break, and will teach you relaxation strategies to help you unwind and manage stress.
The workshop will cover:
- What meditation is and what it can be used for
- Practical key techniques to reduce anxiety and manage stress
- Stress indicators and the benefits of stress reduction
- Increasing concentration to enable your mind to think more clearly
- Effective home practice to help you continue meditation after the workshop
Benefits of meditation include:
- Improved concentration
- Stress-management and mood-management techniques
- Deeper self-understanding and self-acceptance
- Greater patience and tolerance for situations and people around you

Location: N35 (Nathan campus)
The workshop will be delivered by Emily Pereira. Emily is a qualified yoga and meditation teacher and leads the meditation program at Ten Toes Yoga and Natural Health.
Because the workshops involve physical movement it is recommended that participants wear shorts or long pants (no skirts or dresses for females).
